I am honored to be working with the Pennsylvania Association for Individuals with Disabilities to bring employment issues affecting men and women with disabilities to the forefront of our nation’s agenda. Individuals who are disabled face unreasonable obstacles and barriers every day when competing for a place in the work force because of indifference, ignorance, and misinformation. These obstacles must be eliminated.
Through education, training, and awareness, PAID works to bring those with disabilities together with employers who can benefit from their skills and expertise. For every one of these synergistic relationships created, we move more money into the economic stream, reduce dependence on taxpayer dollars and increase tenfold the sense of purpose and personal worth among individuals who are disabled.
I encourage you to learn more about working with individuals with disabilities. With this knowledge and the desire to do the right thing in mind, we can reduce the staggering 70 percent unemployment rate among those who are disabled and put more qualified, motivated people to work. PAID is all about uncovering hidden potential and enhancing productivity for employers and employees alike.
